2) The ‘Bateau – Atelier’ workshop boat – In the traces of Claude Monet in Vernon, Normandy
Just like Daubigny who at one time used to paint upon “Le Botin”, his floating workshop, Monet too owned a workshop boat on which he could both sail and paint the water, the riverbanks, the bridges and the river boats. Everything he saw inspired him, dazzled him…….
The Vernon Workshop Boat Association, “Le Cercle du Bateau – Atelier de Vernon” , offers artists the opportunity to immerse in the Impressionist atmosphere of the banks of the River Seine.
This workshop boat is one which typifies the great tradition of river boats.
This trip takes you sailing down the river and departs from the Tourelles nautical base in Vernon.
Your skipper will accost where it suits you so that you may paint, take photographs, observe and contemplate just the way you want…………
You will be accompanied by emotion, inspiration and creation as well as the exceptional views over the River Seine and its ‘dazzling reflections’ to quote Monet, the riverbanks, the river islands, the houses and chateaus, the plains, the hills and the birds………….
The ‘Bateau – Atelier’ is equipped with a shelter in the event of rain.
