The name Claude Monet and his painting of water-lilies (The Water-Lilies) are known throughout the world. There is no better way to discover Impressionism than by visiting his museum so as to learn a little more. For us who are not averted connaisseurs it took us two hours to learn more about the different artists and discover Impressionism’s various movements.

Taking photographs is not permitted inside the building (in order to comply with the conditions necessary to preserve the works). By visiting the museum you will therefore get the surprise of discovering different masters’ paintings.

Proceed to discover Claude Monet’s gardens and former home.

This walk round the artist’s house and gardens will perhaps arouse the forgotten artist’s soul within you. In any case it was an enchanting discovery and we can more easily understand how Claude Monet received his inspiration to paint ‘The Water-Lilies’.

The artist’s gardens are superb thanks to the maintenance work which is carried out all year long. Take time to wander through the many allies in the way the artist himself once did.

Then head towards Claude Monet’s house which is a wonderful place full of paintings, not only his own but also others which had been given to him by his artist friends.
