Giverny, which is classed a French National Heritage Site is famous throughout the world and is visited each year by hundreds of thousands of tourists. This quaint village with its traditional architecture is an Impressionist refuge for many artists and was a permanent source of inspiration for Claude Monet, whose House and Gardens are a must on the list of places to discover. Giverny remains a jewel which the Portes de l’Eure Borough Council, the (CAPE), in association with the Village Council and the local association ‘Les Amis de Giverny’ have wished to highlight and contemplate it differently by creating a cultural discovery trail of the village thanks to funding by both the Eure County and the Haute-Normandy Regional Councils.
