The Portes de l’Eure area abounds with many châteaux in the valleys of the Seine or the Eure rivers. Some of them have opened their doors to introduce us to different architectural styles from the neoclassical to 17th century Baroque for example. It was built in 1740 by the Duc de Belle-Isle, who instigated the considerable work that gave Bizy its nickname of “Normandy’s Versailles”.

Domaine de Boisset-les-Prévanches This sumptuous estate has a very romantic air and boasts a castle dating from 1600, an Anglo-Norman manor from the mid-19th century and an orangery - theatre, together with many cottages built in a 2.5 hectare wooded park planted with many flowers. You are discreetly welcomed onto the estate with an avenue of lime trees planted 150 years ago by the Marquis de Lespinasse.

The Buisson de May château is neoclassical in style and is also known as Buisson d’Osmoy or Buisson d’Aumoy. It was built around 1760-1770 and takes the form of a square flanked by four square towers, placed within two semicircles and two perspectives laid out in the 18th century. It has been listed as a historical monument since 1994. When you enter the château, you can see the restoration work in progress or the work already completed by its owners since 1999.
